Required Education, Experience And Skills
- Must be enrolled in an ABET accredited Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineer Degree Program
- Must have previous internship experience in understanding engineering drawings and specifications, performing and checking engineering calculations, coordinating information with vendors, performing field site visits, back checking drawings, gaining familiarity with computer software, performing general clerk duties under relevant circumstances.
- Must be able to work legally in the US for any length of time
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Location: New Jersey – Department: Engineering
Thorough understanding of plumbing systems including domestic water, storm, sanitary/vent and natural gas systems. Familiar with code-required sizing techniques, current construction materials and methods and state and national plumbing codes. Knowledge of medical gas systems a plus.
Responsible for project documentation with high efficiency in accordance with document guidelines. Deliver complete, accurate and coordinated project design assignments within time and budget parameters while satisfying client contractual obligations. Extensive knowledge and practice skills of production systems including AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit preferred. Understand overall project goals and constraints including design budget limitations and schedule requirements.
Interact and communicate effectively with other team members and disciplines. Effective written and verbal communication skills a must. Ability to take responsibility for given tasks with limited supervision.
Assist with requested quality control activities for project drafting. Perform construction administration tasks including shop drawing review, change order preparation and field problem resolution. Maintain and organize all project related documents.
